Nutrition is one of the most important ingredients in raising healthy dogs. It is sad but true, it seems that the only good dog food products on the market nowadays are very expensive. It is our opinion that there are no middle-of-the-road quality dog foods. Your dog food either covers all of the bases or it doesn’t!!

We think there are 3 grades of dog food

available on the market today

1. High Quality - Natural & Holistic (Very expensive & harder to find)

2. Half quality - These brands claim to have it all, but fall short in many ways. (Still rather expensive)

3. Poor Quality - (Very cheap & heavily commercialized) Don’t buy your pet food at Wal-Mart!!

Buying poor quality dog food is not a cost effective way to take care of your pets. The money that you are saving will soon be lost to Vet visits. Dogs that eat poor quality foods commonly have skin conditions, develop allergies, bone growth problems, arthritis, hip dysplasia, sensitive stomachs, gas, loose stools, diarrhea, urinary track infections, anal gland issues, and ear infections. This is just a short list of problems that may occur. I assure you of one thing, you will pay a lot more at the Vet and your dog will suffer!!

Half quality dog foods make a much better attempt at creating a quality food for your pet. Your chances of having the same health issues are greatly reduced. These foods usually say REAL chicken or lamb which can be a bit misleading because chicken meal or lamb meal, when produced properly, contains 11 times more protein than REAL chicken. Sometimes they are made from chicken or lamb by-products, which basically can be any part of the chicken or lamb. Most of these foods will still contain high amounts of useless fillers, corn, soy, brewers yeast or wheat. These do nothing nutritionally for your pet! "Hey, at least there is some real meat in there!!"

High Quality Holistic foods are All Natural meaning that all the meat products are antibiotic free and have no added hormones. All the grains are herbicide and insecticide free. All the corn, soy, yeast and wheat have been replaced with human grade meat meals which are cooked down at a low temperature to ensure that all the proteins available are transferred into the meat meal.
